Circulate Petition stuff
- Only one circulator per sheet - If you take a petition around and get signatures for Sam, you cannot give your sheet to someone else to get more signatures. Only one circulator per sheet.
- All signatures on a single sheet must be from the same county. You may circulate in two or more counties. However, if you are circulating in two different counties, you need two different sheets.
- Every block must be filled in . . . NO DITTO MARKS.
- The block that says “city, borough or township will NOT always be the person’s mailing address. Many times, a person’s mailing address is not the township or borough that they live in. (An easy way to answer the question of what goes there is to ask them where they pay their local taxes). However, we are so used to writing our mailing address that this is a very common mistake.
- When asking someone to sign, give them the informational material.
- If someone is supportive, see if they’d like a bumper sticker; make note of any other offers of support (i.e. will they let us put a sign in their yard? Would they like to help out in another way?). Please include this information with your petition when you turn it back in.
- Your form must be notarized before turning it back in.
- The first day you may circulate a petition is February 16. We ask that all forms be turned back in by March 1.
- Petitions may be returned in one of the following two ways:
- By Mail – Sign the form in the presence of a notary and then mail to:
Samrohrer.org, P.O. Box 615, Reading, PA 19607
You must obtain all the signatures on the sheet you’re circulating before you notarize it.
- In Person – Stop by a “Petition Drop-Off Meeting” in your local county. Specific dates and locations will be announced via e-mail and on the website. Look for more details from your Regional/County Coordinator
- If someone makes an error, make a single line through the row. Do not use “white-out”.
- Finally, thank you! The circulating of petitions is often referred to as “the second most important event in a campaign”. It is an opportunity to demonstrate the strength of the campaign and also to give a one-on-one, personal endorsement of Sam Rohrer. This is extremely valuable. Thank you.
